PHOTO PROJECT AND EXHIBITION FOR THE CITY OF HEIDELBERG

This photo project ‘Unter Meinem Kopftuch’ (Under my Headscarf) is sponsored by the Interkulturelles Zentrum of Heidelberg.
I did photograph several Muslim women living in the area who choose to wear a headscarf. The photo shooting together with a journalist interview was an opportunity for those women to tell their stories and explain what is going on in the minds of muslim feminists today.
The event was held at the Palais Prince Carl. The German UNESCO Commission, which had been invited by the City of Heidelberg, was there to honour 9 Intangible Works of Arts from Germany.
The exhibition will be held soon again at the new building of the Interkulturelles Zentrum.
